The Future. Reimagined.
Through Story and Science.

Kaleida Studios is a new entertainment studio built for the age of intelligence.

We unite the most imaginative minds in science and cinematic arts in order to create stories, frameworks and technologies that expand what humans believe is possible.

For the filmmakers who feel the industry has lost its nerve—and the scientists who feel their ideas have no cultural home—this may be the place.

NEUROSCIENTIST & STRATEGIST

Ariane Tom, PhD

Ariane Tom, PhD, is the founder of Kaleida Capital, a venture capital firm investing in neurotechnology, neural data infrastructure, and next-generation human performance. Kaleida’s track record has produced 850% IRR in under 16 months, positioning the firm as a high-signal, thesis-driven partner to LPs and co-investors.

Building on the intersection of science and culture, Dr. Tom also co-launched Kaleida Studios, a neurotech-inspired transmedia IP company creating intelligent, emotionally resonant storytelling rooted in real science. The studio incubates original concepts across podcasts, animation, and immersive media — partnering with scientists, creators, and institutions to turn frontier ideas into scalable, enduring cultural assets.

Prior her investment career, Ariane spent a decade at Stanford spearheading research programs in bioelectronic neural interfaces for brain-mapping, prosthetics, drug delivery, and neuromodulation. She is a published co-author in top-tier research journals Science Magazine and Nature Portfolio with Karl Deisseroth and Zhenan Bao.

Ariane holds a B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering, an M.S. in Bioengineering, and a Ph.D. in Bioengineering, all from Stanford University.

The World Of Kaleida Studios

We exist to bring about a new kind of studio. One where scientific brilliance is not reduced to exposition and cinema artistry is not tethered to market-tested tropes. One where questions are sovereign, story is a form of inquiry and the creative process is an act of collective imagination.

We work across IP formats; film, television, podcasts, immersive events, to tell stories that make tomorrow legible.

Where Fiction Learns from the Future

NeuroFrontiers: Where the mind quits, the real story starts.

Season One of Kaleida’s podcast plunges into the neural unknown. From brain implants and emotional AI to psychedelic therapy and virtual selves, each episode pairs scientific leaders with the creatives shaping public imagination.

Big conversations with scientists and storytellers on consciousness, systems, collapse and renewal. Always curious. Never commercial.

Available from Q4 in 2025.

Big entertainment. Beautifully executed.

Kaleida's Feature Film Division is home to original science fiction designed to provoke, inspire and endure. Our process blends deep science literacy with compelling world-building and modern mythmaking. Our community includes writer-directors, production designers, AI scientists, philosophers and speculative authors. We're assembling a network of creators whose work asks deeper questions and imagines smarter futures.

Whether the story is about sentient machines, synthetic memory or speculative justice, we aim for films that last longer in the mind than they do on the screen.

Meet The Founders

VENTURE BUILDER & FILM HISTORIAN

Gregory Gray

Gregory Gray is the co-founder of Kaleida Studios, a next-generation entertainment venture creating intelligent futures through science-literate storytelling.

Greg built and sold several agency businesses before founding Summit Communication Group, a media-communications network trusted by luxury brands, entertainment studios, healthcare groups and private equity investors. Across Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific, Summit has built new brands for market entry and been involved in high-stakes communication campaigns, that have shaped commercial trajectories from early growth to multi-million-pound exits.

His career spans twenty-five years at the intersection of art, finance, and media. He has advised clients across London, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, Sydney and Dubai. Today his work is focused on building a commercial and creative bridge for science-inspired cinema, with Kaleida Content Fund I — a $50M de-risked investment vehicle designed to back eight to ten feature films and transmedia projects.

Gregory divides his time between Australia, the US and the UK. His forthcoming book, The Great American Art: A Century of the Western in Cinema, examines how the Western shaped a century of popular culture. He now argues that science will play the same defining role in cinematic arts for the century ahead.

Kaleida was born of a shared frustration: most science is lifeless, most fiction is illiterate. We wanted something else. Something vivid. A home for creators. Intellectual. Cinematic. A studio for stories that make contact with a global STEM audience.
